Quakecon 2010 - New information released
The sign-up this year is a bit different. The sign-up this year is on-site. In other words, it's get in while you can. Last year broke the record for the gathering of gamers at over 7,000. It's expected to increase this year. Thanks to the courtesy of Id Software, Bethesda Softworks, and the Quakecon Volunteers, the event is completely free. Doors will open August 12th at 9:00AM, and will remain open until noon on August 15th. News on Doom 4 is expected to be released this year, so stay tuned!

Doom 4 to be on Earth

It would seem only logical to have Hell invade Earth just as was done in Doom 2 to some extent but you never really felt as if you were on Earth. Of course this was due to the limited graphical and computer capabilities at the time but this time around, the limit is simply ID's imagination in how they portray the Earth. Just imagine gunning your way through a neighborhood filled with Imps! lol

It is also rumoured that Doom 4 will have a Dynamic Destructible Environment.[image hidden]

As is the case with many high end games these days, the environment plays a huge role in its success. Since Doom 4 will be using the ID Tech 5 game engine which will look like a heavily enhanced Cyrsis engine, one can only expect to see one hell of an environment. Hopefully the creators are making most everything destructible to a certain extent.
