eSports Yearbook Live Chat - Transcript #7
t0bs3n: #GaMer@new PC (damir1994): I read a lot about you, but could not find any information anywhere as yearbook, where i can buy yearbook any webshop ?
all important information is at www.esportsyearbook.com , unfortunately the book is not yet listed in amazon.com for example, still with the ISBN it should be possible to order it
t0bs3n: ISBN (978-3839164310)
diejule: in any shop
diejule: book shop
losemann: marconofrio: What do you think of the ex-Wicked owners buying MYM last year? Do you think they will be (or have been) able to bring back the industry dominance that MYM had in terms of both powerhouse teams and top news content?
To be honest I do not know much about the new MYM, I have not cared alot about it. But I have seen lack of content and it has gotten far down in my priority list of scene news pages. I think they got a cool SC2 team, but I am reading not enough news. I think a team is only worth something, when you are actually writing about them constantly. That I have been...

t0bs3n: [20:09] Mauser (poverslipvejk): Do you think that eSports Yearbook has a bright future, are you satisfied with the success of the book or it could be better?
A bright future indeed, however it depends on you people, you have to write about your passion. We got great feedback from Russia and Brazil and hope that we get some stuff from there for the next year
losemann: #GaMer@new PC (damir1994): what way use for training?
I am not a progamer myself, and I never was a progamer. But i think the best way for gaming is to always practise and play with people of higher skill to always keep improving. Also watch how u played the game and try to increase skills and strategies.
sprungschwein:Stephan Bodzin (stephanbodzin): Why wasn't seven invited into EPS Nordic? please explain.
Who?
Affentod: [20:11] Stephan Bodzin (stephanbodzin): Why wasn't seven invited into EPS Nordic? please explain.
EPS Nordic is limited to mainland Scandinavia at this point.

eSports Yearbook Live Chat - Transcript #5
t0bs3n: We are now soon at the end of the debate, so let me ask one short question at the end. What would be the story for 2010 which you would like to read about in the next eSports Yearbook?
sprungschwein:fragster taking over readmore
sprungschwein:
Affentod: lol
sprungschwein:easy one, wasnt it?
t0bs3n: hard to write
Chucky: yep gl on that
Chucky:
D.Devil: I'd like to read about eastern Europe taking over the professional scene (including Arbalet)
Affentod: I'd like to read a story about how ESL managed to become the worldwide leading eSports league.
D.Devil: oh, we're doing that thing
sprungschweink, to be serious: i would really like to get one or two sites about fragster.de, where the esport award for the best coverage 2010 is mentioned
losemann: I would like to read something about Freaks 4U being successful without being in everybodies mouth
D.Devil: okay, I'd like to read that there's an esports management course at a cool university
D.Devil: with David Hiltscher...

eSports Yearbook Live Chat - Transcript #4
t0bs3n: This is a great point that leads to my next question: What does a eSport game needs to be successful, so hypothetical speaking, if we want to make a video game, which features does it need and what is necessary to make it a success in the scene excluding the decision about RTS or FPS?
Affentod: It depends on the eSports companies that actually have a broad body of amateur players. That's why CPL and ESWC won't matter anymore.
maseschine:: and a CPL, ESL or ESWC will loose the rights to use their software to make any money of it. /worsecaseoff
D.Devil: nah, that would be really harsh
maseschine:: it would be
maseschine:: but think about it
Affentod: Mase is right, this is an issue.
D.Devil: probably the major events won't have to struggle as much
D.Devil: but the smaller ones are in more trouble
maseschine:: it's ALWAYS all about the money
D.Devil: well, who could afford this?
D.Devil: yeah, it is, but how much money could a publisher really make with its own universe?
D.Devil: it...

eSports Yearbook Live Chat - Transcript #3
t0bs3n: As Julia mentioned it. Quake got a big revival this year with Quake Live and the attention on the Intel Extreme Masters, what is the future of this game and how did the community developed in the short time? Let us start here with the expert Konstantin
maseschine:: @sprungschwein exactly, and I think we will experience exactly the same thing on Sc2
diejule: I think Quake Live was a big benefit for the whole Quake community, because "old and young" got together in the same tournaments and met and showed the audience great matches... I saw so many old names and saw so many high skilled rookies... that made me watch many many matches.
maseschine:: true that
sprungschwein:personally i have to thank especially the ESL for "reviving" quake like this. it was a fantastic year for the quake scene and i think that even the non quakers have seen, that it can be a really interesting game (take the iem final for example). also the EPS in Germany shows, that there are a few more...

eSports Yearbook Live Chat - Transcript #2
t0bs3n: I want to state at the question of David (affentod) about Warcraft 3. Starcraft 2 is not a successor for Warcraft, so can they co-exist or will it be the release of Starcraft be the end for Warcraft. Maybe David could start here and tell us what the ESL is thinking about the future of Warcraft?
D.Devil: I don't think so because games don't influence each other that much on a casual level... the influence will be limited to other RTS, and DotA won't notice much of it
Affentod: WC3 is dead outside of china.
D.Devil: it's not completely dead, but it's impossible to build something with WC3 while SC2 is around the corner and everyone only cares about it
D.Devil: I actually predict that WC3 could do at least a bit better when about half a year has passed and the people who really like it as a game return
losemann: When I compare digits of ZOTAC Cups
D.Devil: I'm not saying it has a future as professional esports
sprungschwein:but isnt wc3 dying since years now?
D.Devil: but at least some...
