The 55th vAir Force is a military simulation (mil-sim) group specializing in virtual flight, operating Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (FS2004) and X (FSX), in addition to other simulators such as Lock On: Modern Air Combat (LOMAC) and Falcon 4.0: Allied Force (F4AF).

Those who join the Xfire group
Joining the vAF Xfire group does NOT make you a vAF member. If you only apply to join the group, you are listed as a "Supporter" on the website. The Xfire group is only intended as a convenience for members to communicate with each other and does not constitute actual membership in the organization.

Nicknames
All Airmen should, when they get a chance, change their "nickname" on the vAF Xfire roster to their current callsign. This is done on the group website here: http://www.xfire.com/clans/55thvaf/roster/
It does NOT change the nickname displayed in Xfire, just the one shown for the vAF on the Xfire roster.
If the above link does not work, go to http://www.xfire.com/clans/55thvaf/ and click on "Members" on the left. At the top of that page should be a box that says "Set your team nickname:" Enter JUST your callsign, for example "Raptor". It should be the callsign you used as a member before.
This way we can recognize old members by their callsigns.
