WINNERS ANNOUNCED!!
The votes have all been tallied and the winners have been chosen. And thus comes to a close the first Blizzard/Xfire Machinima Contest. Over 120 entrants have been narrowed down to this select group of winners.
While there was one runaway hit with fans, critics, forums and judges alike, lots of movies made their way to the award podium. Several great films went without honors, but that is what happens when you bring together so many worthy opponents in one contest, or shall we say “Battleground.”
Just as you would re-run an instance that didn’t provide the drops you wanted the first time, we are sure that our entrants will be back for a second go around in the next Xfire Machinima Contest.

Are you ready to make history and create the best World of Warcraft movies ever?
The contest involves entrants producing movies using the Blizzard Entertainment MMORPG World of Warcraft game engine to create imaginative movies in the three main categories of Dance, Comedy and Drama. Five prizes will be awarded for each category. An additional ten prizes will be awarded for special categories including Best Music, Best Dialog, Best Action Scene, Best Pun or Line, and Best Editing and Special Effects. A special prize will also be awarded to a selected movie among all valid contest entrants.

March 1st 2006 Blizzard and Xfire announce the winners and release the movies to the public.
Submission Checklist - Read this first!
You should be able to answer YES to the following questions:
a. Is this the first time I will be publicly releasing my movie?
b. Is my movie in one of the approved formats? (".wmv", ".avi", ".mpg", ".mpeg", ".qt," or ".mov")?
c. Is the music in my movie either from WoW or of my own original composition?
d. Do I mention Xfire and Blizzard and did I include either the white or black background slide in my movie?
