Each month, Xfire organizes the Xfire Trophy, an invitational tournament gathering four top Counter-Strike teams. The team winning the competition become the Xfire Trophy holder for one month, until the next event.
The Xfire Trophy also is the occasion for you to play with the Counter-Strike pros and to follow all of the matches every Friday evening in the « Arena Online » show, on French TV network Game One.

To participate in the event, follow the instructions below:
1. Download the Xfire client. It's free! (Go to step 3 if Xfire is already installed on your computer)
2. Install Xfire and register a free account.
3. Add one of the accounts listed above to your Xfire friend's list..
4. On the day of the event, from 19:00 to 21:00 CEST : Log on Xfire. You can join the pro gamers on public servers directly thanks to the special event accounts.
5. On the day of the event, from 21:00 to 23:00 CEST : Log on Xfire. You might get randomly selected to play on a mix game on a private server with the pros - Stay around to take your chance!
Every month, play with the Counter-Strike pros between their official matches competing for the Xfire Trophy.

The Xfire Trophy is a monthly online invitational tournament organized by Xfire. Each month 4 competitors battle it out for the right to hold the Xfire Trophy for one month and 500 Euros in cash prize.
Each month, all 4 Xfire Trophy games are played in one special evening. During that evening, Xfire users are invited to play with the competitors, helping them get ready for the official matches. If you want to play with the Xfire Trophy competitors while they warm up for the matches, go to the "Play With The Pros" page.
The Xfire Trophy matches are broadcasted every Friday at 20:35 CEST on French video games channel Game One, during the "Arena Online"show. If you want to know more about these shows and watch streamed online re-runs, go to the "Arena Online" page.
The game played is Counter-Strike 1.6.
The winning team is the first one to score 16 points (MR15 format). In case of a tie at the end of regulation, the teams play an overtime where the first team to reach 4 points is declared the winner (MR3 format). In case of a tie at the end of the overtime, another overtime will be played and so on until a winner is determined.
The starting side for each team will decided through a knife round.

The Xfire Trophy is an invitational tournament and this is how teams are selected :
For the first edition of the Xfire Trophy, the competitors are all selected by Xfire's in-house selection committee made of long time E-sports specialists. At the end of the first edition of the Xfire Trophy, the competitors that finished 1st and 2nd are automatically qualified for the following Xfire Trophy occurrence. The two teams that finished 3rd and 4th each have to play a relegation game against a team selected by the Xfire selection committee. Teams winning these relegations games complete the next Xfire Trophy line up of competitors.
