Jarett and Geoff: this is Jarett Cale - writer and producer of Pure Pwnage.. and uhh.. Jeremy ;)

Jarett and Geoff: Question: =GvL=rick: Jarett and Geoff, What do you do outside of making Pure Pwnage? Do you go to College?
Answer: Geoff: I used to study physics at the University of Toronto - I was working on my Ph.D thesis, then Pure Pwnage got really popular. What started out as a hobby project turned into my dream job. In January 2006 I decided to work full time on Pure Pwnage.
Answer: Jarett: i was doing stand-up comedy prior to Pure Pwnage, after a few years of university.. i studied physics and math
Jarett and Geoff: Question: WNxUnf4mili4r <3 Brazuka: Where is Dawei? Do you still hear from him? What exactly happened to him?
Answer: Dawei is in Vancouver atm, we hear from him regularly
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Dyson: To both of you: How do you guys plan on making Season 2 differant from Season 1?
Answer: Well for one, we plan to continue to upgrade our equipment to improve the visual quality of the show.. we also find we have a little more creative freedom now that we're credited and have escaped the "purported reality" of season 1.. we are very excited for season 2!
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Wolf: What if any next generation counsols do you plan on purchasing? And do you plan on upgrading your computer to directX 10?
Answer: Jarett: i plan on getting them all eventually.. only the Wii on launch day though.. i'll grab a ps3 sometime early next year, hopefully there will be a price drop :).. i will indeed be upgrading to dx10 sometime next year, probably later on.. i'm experienced enough with windows to not go vista for quite a months following its release :)
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Silent Lamb: Hey, this is a question for both Geoff and Jarett. Knowing that you have created a show that is possibly watched by millions, or at least generates millions of downloads, a show that has inspired people to get together all across the globe, a show that has made gamers proud, and a show that has had well respected actors from other shows appear in the episodes, do you ever just wake up one morning and go "Wow, I did this".
Answer: pretty much every day.. but it wasnt as much of a shock as you'd expect.. it came gradually.. we had time to absorb what was happening
Jarett and Geoff: Question: [IA]Jaffa: Where do you get the music for your show, and do your write the songs yourself?
Answer: Geoff: I write / record most of the music in my studio - if got a few synths and some nice microphones / preamps. There are a lot of other musicians that have helped out to create the PP soundtrack.. one of which was featured in episode 12 - he goes by the name of pronobozo (www.pronobozo.com). He composed the tetris song remix.
Answer: I'm currently working on the PP soundtrack - there will be more details regarding the musicians and full versions of many PP songs on that album
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Demon: What was the basis of which you decided to create the characters of the show? How much of the characters are actual traits of the actors and how much is just made for the characters?
Answer: Its funny, those of us that know us in RL tell us that the characters are just exaggerated versions of ourselves :)
Jarett and Geoff: Question: [HPD]IG0ranI{HQ}: To Anyone - Are you planning to have screenings outside Canada and USA?
Answer: Jarett: Yes! we're very excited to screen episode 1 of season 2 outside of Canada!
Jarett and Geoff: Question: actawesome: Question to the crew: About how many hours of extra's and stuff will the DVD have. Also I love your show and I'm a big fan bought much stuff :D.
Answer: Jarett: hard to tell.. but there will be tons of stuff.. bloopers, deleted scenes, interviews with all the cast members.. the works!
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Kenshin: Jarret what were/are your heroes when growing up?
Answer: Shigeru Miyamoto is probably my biggest hero.. i really hope to meet him one day.. the impact he's had on my life is certainly greater than any other single man :).. Bill Hicks inspired me to do comedy, which ended up changing my entire outlook on life.. i suppose these two men have had the most influence on me, and i would call them my heroes
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Nicolasnzl: In EP12 you said you left teasticle is just a little bit lower than your right teasticle, is this true???
Answer: Jarett: Yes! haha
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Schu: How long have you been playing online games? What was the first online game you ever played?
Answer: Geoff: We've both been playing games "since ever" :) I used to play "online" games in the BBS days over my modem. At one point in time I actually had a direct connection going to one of my neighbors houses to play an army strategy game. When the internet came about, not all games supported TCP/IP internet play. I used to play command and conquer (original) over the internet
Answer: Jarett and Geoff: using a program called KALI, it would make a local area network connection out of an internet connection. That was the first time I guess I played online.
Jarett and Geoff: Question: =GvL=rick: Jarett and Geoff, Do either of the two of you have plans to continue your education in any spare time that you might get in the future?
Answer: Jarett: i'm always telling myself i'll finish my degree one day.. it's the only regret i have.. i hope i have the time and opportunity to do so in the future
Jarett and Geoff: Question: h2o[R].Died2Soon: Not many females have been in the show. Do you think that we will see more female gamers in future episodes since there is an increasing number of female gamers?
Answer: Jarett: stay tuned for season 2 ;)
Jarett and Geoff: Question: -[aBn].Quik^: To Jarett, Do you ever go into a game and see an imitator who's name is "teh pwnerer" or something like that? If so, what is your general reaction?
Answer: Jarett: regularly :).. i see a lot of "FPS Doug"s too.. it always gives me a smile!.. and an extra sense of pleasure when i pwn them lol
Jarett and Geoff: Question: [-SliguY^]: Is it true that Pure Pwnage started off as a small joke video for a C&C generals community?????
Answer: Jarett: yup! pretty much.. geoff and i were huge zero hour fans.. since then we've expanded and evolved the show to what it is now.. and imho, for the better.. i really love how far we've come, and i'm so excited for next year i lose sleep regularly! :)
Jarett and Geoff: Question: [HPD]IG0ranI{HQ}: To Jarett, for how long were you doing standup comedy before you started to film the show?
Answer: Jarett: i started doing stand-up about 3 years before pure pwnage started.. i'm excited to go back and do some more!.. ive been in hiding these last couple years.. look for some sets to make their way onto the internet in early 2007
Jarett and Geoff: Question:]-->iND<--[ Dragon: i noticed a few scenes from season 1 were filmed in my home city of montreal, as well as toronto do u plan to shoot future scenes here in montreal?
Answer: No definite plans, but we're always looking to bring the production to exciting locations!
Jarett and Geoff: Question: smit90: Hi! A question to Geoff: I saw the recent addition into episodes 12 with the green screen into WoW. DO you plan on using this technology throughout season 2?
Answer: The only other green screen we used for teh_masterer in episode 9. I suppose we will use green screen in season 2 if it adds to the story - There are no specific plans to have more frequent special effects in season 2.
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Quinn: Is Geoff a big noob in RL or no? And is Jarett good at C&C in RL?
Answer: You wanna 2v2 us and find out :)
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Oofgeg: Do you ever plan on moving your show to television if the opportunity arises?
Answer: We dont plan on ever leaving the internet. If a TV broadcaster wants to air our show as it is, then we would be fine with that. But we wont be tailoring the show to the standard 22 minute length or making any compromises regarding the content.
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Thayle: How long have you two known each other?
Answer: We met at school in grade 5 :) We used to hang out and talk about arcade games back then.
Jarett and Geoff: Question: ! naSty: Did FPSDoug really throw your nintendo DS lite?
Answer: Doug threw a DS lite case - you'll notice a cut if you watch it again.
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Kenshin: What plans or new things are you guys going to have in the store?
Answer: We plan to add the talkboxes from episode 12 in a few days :) Also, the no noobs sign, new shirts, hats .. and a few others. We have been getting a lot of requests for those talkboxes :)
Jarett and Geoff: Question: 3BRM]SMC.Super6: @ geoff, you said that you only thought you would have 1-2 more seasons in the Good Game interview? Are you sticking to this? Why? and when will be see the extended 2nd interview?
Answer: That’s the plan right now, but things may change. The first major story will take 3 seasons. The extended interview is up on the good game website right now!
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Sirko: Jarett -> Will we ever see some of your comedy routines released (that is if you recorded any)
Answer: Jarett: I don't plan to release any of my old sets on tape.. i feel the audio and video quality is simply too poor.. i want people to first see a proper recording!
Jarett and Geoff: Question: <3 Tracy <3: To two very sexy men: What are your parents thoughts on all of this?
Answer: Jarett: my mom loves it! she was pretty scared when i stopped going to school (especially after investing 6 years post-secondary!).. but she's always trusted me and supported me.. so i'm really lucky.. now i'm the talk of her office :).. she can't wait for me to visit and show me off! lol
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Nick: Jarett, was any of your stand-up gaming related?
Answer: Jarett: yup!.. i used to enjoy talking about games on stage.. most of the time it went over really well.. better than anyone in the club ever expected.. i've always wanted to spread the love of gaming, and bring it some respect
Jarett and Geoff: Question: [3BRM]SMC.Super6: have you ever made the local news? Did they report give a ghey sign off like the one from some internet news show that said he was "pwning n00bs here at the globe theatre. and now back to you"?
Answer: Jarett: we've had some articles here and there, but for the most part we're ignored by the general mainstream media.. i think if they knew what was actually happening and what it meant, their minds would be blown.. but for the most part they are too ignorant of the technology to understand what it all means
Jarett and Geoff: Question: angtu: To both: what's the worst part of being an internet celebrity?
Answer: You don't have the money of a non-internet celebrity :)
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Frostassassin: What do you think about Supreme Commander? And which next gen (PC) game are you looking forward to?
Answer: Jarett: so far so good! haven't had too much time to mess around with it, and my current computer is a little hurting to play it on, but i like it so far.. at least it's different i'm looking forward mostly to CnC3 and SupCom for the pc next year, and a whole bunch of titles on the consoles
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Geeks_Only: do you perfer for your fan to refer to you using your PP names or your RL names?
Answer: either or.. if it's related to the show, jeremy and kyle is fine.. if it's unrelated to the show, our real names are the way go :)
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Oofgeg: Would you guys consider going on tour to do DVD signings after the release of the Season 1 DVD?
Answer: We haven't really considered that, but that's a good idea.. if the fans are interested in something like this, it would be a great excuse to travel! :)
Jarett and Geoff: Question: Emordon: To Jarett, Did you really sell your hair online and if so were can i buy some?
Answer: Jarett: we did really sell my actual hair on ebay.. i don't plan on doing that again though :)
Jarett and Geoff: Question: DNA]Mike: Do you think it is feasible for someone else to have another web TV show about a pro-gamer without being shrugged off as a Pure Pwnage clone? Also do you have any advice to anyone who would be willing to do this?
Answer: Jarett: I think it'd be tough to get another gamer show going without being labeled a rip-off.. but there's an ocean of opportunity with distributing content on the internet.. try to find your unique style and go with it.. the best advice is to just do it!
