Answer: i've started my first league 12 years ago, since then there were many smaller (doom, quake, quake2, ... ). And there may be many alternatives, but esl is the best. ;)

Answer: You just mentioned the best reasons for keeping up the Electronic Sports League. We believe its the best plattform for online gamers and users which have been using other leagues should be offered an alternative.

Answer: actually not. its somekind of reward for the visitors of the Intel Friday Night Games. But actually we did sell them in some seasons so maybe just keep having an eye on the shop ;)

Answer: The ESL was founded 1997, named "DeCL" (Deutsche Clan Liga = German clan league), and the first game was quake.

Answer: The Community flames are payment enough .. ;) no, of course we couldnt spend so much time on developing the ESL if we couldnt pay our life from it

Answer: Our website and our experience. The website is being improved every day, since 6 years develeopment.

Answer: no, ESL is an online league in the first step. we do host pro tournaments as the ESL Pro Series Finals or the Intel Friday Night Game. These events are set up for visitors to watch pro gamers play their game

Answer: phew .. hard to answer, probably mario or some other nintendo game. But my online gaming career started with doom and quake. :)

Answer: hehe, yes - we have an office. The ESL has about 65 employees today

Answer: since the ESL has its roots in germany i would say germans are the largest group at the moment. but we are investing a lot of time and work to improve other countries

Answer: We have boards in our forum to propose new games, but you can also send us mails anytime.

Answer: actually not and thats why i love this job. everything you do day by day is having an effect on the community, esports or at least our baby - the ESL.

Answer: when i was born? ;)
Since the first atari system my dad brought in for some days i think. But it really gets started with my amiga 500.

Answer: its wished, yes. but we also hired people which didnt know too much about games but where willing to get into this hole scene

Answer: Cheating is and will always be a problem, the biggest for sure in counterstrike. But with our own anti-cheat software called "aequitas", we got this problem pretty good under control. At the moment we can say our league is cheatfree as never before!

Answer: since nintendo ds is a new sort of gameboy i would say the gameboy

Answer: hehe, no - i think that wouldnt make sense for a league which is open to all clans
[ESL]Thefly: Question: Are you going to do anything against the Cheater in the ESL Gather system? So that the Players in the Gather can record a demo of the Cheater , give it to an ESL Admin,, so that the Cheater get a ban in the Ladders?
Answer: We probably are going to release a special version for aeuqitas, some kind of "aequitas light". But the gather system should alway be fast and simple, easy to jump in for new users.

Answer: Monkey Island 5 or anykind of lucas arts adventure revival

Answer: dont hink so, the international leagues are run by international admins, with no special treatment for any teams or players.

Answer: The admins are gamers as everyone else. Who want to be admins and are not allowed to play his game anymore? But the first and most important rule for an esl admin is: An admin never has to interfere in things, that bear on himself or a friend of him.
