Xfire Release 1.109 Beta
2009-05-18 4:21 PM PDT
It's time for another Xfire release! A new beta version of Xfire is now available.

Download Xfire Beta 1.109a now

Exit Xfire. Copy 109a.exe to your Xfire data installation directory (usually c:\Program Files\Xfire\ on XP and c:\ProgramData\Xfire on Vista) and run it to update your Xfire. If you don't know how to do this, then you probably should not be attempting to beta test Xfire.

Please restrict discussion of the beta to this blog thread. This is to help us track your feedback. We are interested in your experiences with the new beta, specifically anything that goes horribly wrong. Thanks for your help!

No news about what changed?
Hard to test without knowing where to look or what to break

Lol, no change notes. Well here's a list of a few.

- XIG Browser shortcuts.
- XIG supports saved chat rooms
- AIM feature has been reworked a bit
- Import AIM groups added.

I'm sure there is some other stuff that I can't think of right now.

Seems that this Beta completely disabled my AIM support. After installing, I noticed that my AIM account had disappeared. I tried re-adding it several times; no luck. Have restored the full version until a new beta can be released. :-\

I can't use the Webbrowser ingame, only a transparent Window.

And I get high Ping when someone join on my Livecast since 1.08!

Oh and my Xfire Crashes when i have a Livecast open! Happens 2 times to me

Love the new import AIM groups! Works like a charm for me, but I only wish you would have kept it separate.

Idea, make a new side tab with AIM logo on it and have your buddies there?

Seems to have fixed the G15 logitech lcd not working (since the last official xfire release) under Vista x64!

AIM not working here either after installing the beta.

The FPS and Clock counters appeared rather huge again, but nothing a little visit in Edit mode couldn't fix.

The ability to access saved chat rooms in game was very visible with that giant chat message at start, but there seemed to be no way to actually access those rooms. Selecting them from the Chat tab did filter out messages but did not let me type anything in the rooms, and clicking the links did nothing either.

The saved chat rooms now work for me in game. I am not sure what caused the links to not do anything the first time I tried, but I suspect changing the game resolution might have something to do with it. I'll report if I find out more.

Thanks, G15 is working now for me in Windows7 RC1 x64

Whoa, why are all my aim contacts on my main xfire list now? That's very confusing, might have to stop using AIM on XFire now.

There should be separate online/offline sections for IM accounts, or a new tab for the other messengers you have added.

Also I think a new menu has been added in this build "Tools - Manage Instant Messenger Accounts"
