Xfire Release 1.104 Beta
2009-02-03 5:28 PM PST
It's time for another Xfire release! A new beta version of Xfire is available for testing.
Download Xfire Beta 1.104b now
Exit Xfire. Copy 104b.exe to your Xfire data installation directory (usually c:\Program Files\Xfire\ on XP and c:\ProgramData\Xfire on Vista) and run it to update your Xfire. If you don't know how to do this, then you probably should not be attempting to beta test Xfire.
Please restrict discussion of the beta to this blog thread. This is to help us track your feedback. We are interested in your experiences with the new beta, specifically anything that goes horribly wrong. Thanks for your help!

If you have someone's chat window active, you will not hear the send sound sound being played.

A new beta client has been released (104b).

- The issue with the browser being tacked and causing some blank space should be fixed.
- Fixed a crash with manually detecting games with multiple XIG renderers.

Very nice what you done with the browser, works really nice.
Also noticed a few things were fixed that i wrote with the last beta, still a couple left of them to do. But very nice allready, no problems here besides the flash elements going over the scroll bars.
And maybe it might be easy for popups to open in tabs (not the spam popups ofcourse :-p)

The send and receive sounds still dont work.
It worked for 1 time after opening a chat for 2 messages, but then: silence in each message that followed. The other sounds work properly.I like them better then the old ones. Because the new sounds arent as agressive as the old ones.

If this is untested, and not recommended, then why does it insist on automatically downloading into my machine everytime I log on, even though I have repeatedly attempted to turn off the download "enabler"?

killer that a new update is out. But, since the new updates have been coming out including this one my audio is out of sync with the video in all my captures. And I'm not talking about after encoding it. It does it before it is even encoded. I thought it was my hardware or some setting but nothing has changed. I also did a test with Fraps and Gamecam and everything is perfect. Its only xfire. I'm letting you know to maybe fix this in the future.

Hello sir, I'd like to get my send sounds back.
I enjoyed the little beep that told me when i send something
I've noticed that it isnt in the sound configuration and thats as far as i want to go with editing xfire's configuration settings. So if you could please release a patch that will fix this.
Please note that i'm not the only one who misses the little beep
Thank you

When you have the browser set to sticky mode (thumbtack turned), there appears blank space at the bottom of the frame. The size seems to be the same as what the toolbars and tab bar take up normally. So it correctly moves the page view to start from the top of the frame, but forgets to resize the content to fill up the entire visible area.
This doesn't happen always. Seems to mostly happen when you use Web search field and immediately after using it you leave the browser mode. Screenshot
Notice how in the screenshot the scroll bars end up before the web browser frame ends, there is also nothing drawn in that empty space but is 100% transparent.
PS. Nice work!
