Women forever control the hearts of men
2010-03-07 1:19 PM PST
So, my girlfriend of 3 years and a few days left me a week ago. Can't say I'm too happy that the way she went about doing it was getting with someone else, but meh, whatever..

Games are pretty shit now, especially seeing I bought double copies of the most recent games, so she could learn to play with me. Brings back memories...but what do I have to turn to? Hey, I guess BC2 is pretty bloody good, and I've always got AvP to turn back to when I get bored.

Thoughts of getting Lith going again are haunting me. *slaps himself* Totally NOT a good idea.... But then again.. LOL NO. My mate says "if you want to own a clan, start a new, different one". Perhaps he's right. Time will tell. Until then..game on? Game on!

Game on 'apachetemp'
2009-08-03 4:26 AM PDT
Mm, Got my compy going. Rearranged the insides and its goin' like a vacuum cleaner now. Epic airflow.

When I first tried to use it, I went on the previous install. That was fun for the 20 seconds I was on it. Virus rampage. Since then, I've reinstalled on a clean drive. Temporary, but at least I can use it for gaming.

I'm changing my mind on my GPU. It runs COD4 at over 150fps. Maybe I don't need that upgrade yet. I'll see how it performs on HD when I get myself a new monitor.

Almost back
2009-07-06 11:06 PM PDT
Been out of action for ages now; haven't had the net for 6 months because we had to move after the Black Saturday Bushfires in Australia. Since then, I've had my computer get raped by viruses 3 times, resulting in me having to buy 2 new HDDs.. The same computer blew up a few days ago - a week before I got the internet..

Dad gave me this "HP Pavilion HDX Dragon" Entertainment lappy, so I can play CoD4 now.. but I should get the net within the week, so I kinda can't wait to repair my gaming beastie (and upgrade to a gtx285). (Oh, I'm stealing my neighbours 8mbit/s net atm.. they've got it unencrypted, so it's their fault, lol.)

"Blank subjects are not allowed" lol

I figured out that my GPU doesn't need to be underclocked to be stable, which is sweet. I just need to keep setting the fanspeed. 80% isn't bad, either. It's loud.. nothing like my old system, and barely audible over the often blaring music.

Games are rockin'.
Call of Duty 4 is fair ownage, lol. Already reached top rank, and I've played it less than 4 weeks. Nothing compared to BF2.
Crysis is cool, too, but the multiplayer kinda seems overrated.. Like they tried to get somewhere but fell short. I have to play on a mass populated server before criticising it too much, but yeh..
Gears of War is sweet too, but the LIVE shit wont work. The game keeps telling me to pay, but the website where I get linked to says they don't charge anymore.. bloody annoying, but I'll figure it out when I can be bothered.

Apache up and running!
2008-08-01 6:42 AM PDT
So, I did get my computer going over the weekend. Until today, I'd been having troubles with my games crashing.

I slightly underclocked my factory oc'd GPU, and forced the fan to actually work.. I'll have to email XFX re: that, and see if they can fix the automatic fanspeed controller thing. (..I really don't want to keep setting it to 80% or sth, when I only need 20%..)

Other than that, it's totally awesome! Y'see, my last compy had a GeForce 5700LE in it... Sad, I know, but I spent many hours pwning it up on Aliens vs Predator 2, Battlefield 2 and F.E.A.R., using that system! (Then it died...lol.) Off track again... My point is, I've never played modern games the way they were supposed to be played. ..Well, now I can, and I'm lovin' it!

Game on!

Gaming Rig "Apache"
2008-07-24 12:57 AM PDT
So I've ordered my new compy and the parts are in! I plan on going to get them tomorrow, whoo!

The majority of the parts (bar the GPU's ebay purchase) are from www.pccasegear.com.au. I whole-heartedly reccommend looking at their site if you are shopping for compy parts, as I have had a good experience with them.

Hopefully I can get my rig up over the weekend, but I'm not sure; I've never built a computer before.. Oh, I'm sure I'll work it out.

Lack of gaming computer
2008-05-19 3:28 AM PDT
As many of you should already know, my computer died late last year.. I'm still working on getting a new one together, as it wasn't a high priority until recently.

I'm currently running a P4, <2gHz, 256mb RAM, 128mb GFX card, so please stop asking me to play with you; I CANNOT!

I'm open to hardware suggestions, if you have any.
