Well, well. Perhaps not ALL boys on Xfire are girls, after all.
Sure, The Sims 3 improved a little bit more this week, but on the other hand, Prototype, also appeared on the charts. And let me tell you something. This is no girly-girl game. Just listen to these snippets from the description on Wikipedia.
A shape shifting bad-ass guy trying to stop (or whatever he is doing) some military shit going on in New York City? That's some seriously manly stuff. Like, hair on your chest manly. Or like, baseball and beer manly. It's even so manly that I no longer consider Xfire to be lost to the rainbow side of humanity.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, no. You can be queer if you want to, as long as my games stay manly.
As you can see, most of the changes happening on the charts is directly related to the success of Prototype and The Sims 3, but Team Fortress 2 is dropping a bit too much to be caused just by that. The game is obviously suffering from the good ol' "Oooh, a shiny new feature, let's play the game all the time for two weeks and then quit"-way of gaming. But, it goes to show that there are people out there seriously interested in playing TF2, if there are improvements made.
Another thing definitely worth noting is that we no longer have Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning with us on the charts. Which I believe is the first time since the game was released. I'm not quite sure what you guys think about the future of the game, but please share your thoughts!
Tomorrow I'm heading to check out the job I'll be doing for summer, so I have a couple of hours of riding a train, which I guess can be enjoyable.
Oh, please remember to add the Xfire Twitter account if you use twitter, for all the latest updates!
Wow.... The Sims 3 went up to #7..... Unbelievable.... I never thought it would even be ON the charts. It should be all the way back in the 500s where it belongs. Seriously I saw over 4 broadcasts of the game already on main page... wow.. I agree that xfire is turning into a girl website lol.
Yet, Prototype only got to #13 after release whereas The Sims 3 went directly to #10 and is now at #7. Something's seriously wrong... good thing for humanity!
whoa indeed lol something must be wrong i saw alot of players broadcasting sims3 and i throught prototype should be higher on the list then 13 soo yes i agree something is wrong lol
@[LOTM] M. S. (elite4halo): I guess that the big interest surrounding the Sims series has made people - those who aren't usually the ones playing Sims - try it. Even though I write otherwise in the blog, I think it's pretty cool in a way.
@DS (daystranger): I think it had some interesting ideas with the PVP/RVR systems, but it wasn't quite well enough made, regardless of the good ideas. It's not a bad game in my eyes, though.
@Simon (radioactivezombie): Yes, I think it's much of an initial hype/people wanting to try out the game. I'm sure it'll spike and then fall again.
@[ReVolt] ράφиэχкilleя (adema666): Yes, but there are people actually reading this blog that aren't on twitter. Strange as it may seem
@the rest: I guess that there being something wrong or not is a matter for discussion. I personally prefer action/strategy games, but I guess we're all different.
