A week ago I made a tweet that
I had to format my 600Gb HDD completely. I did not talk about it in my blog since I thought it was not real worth it... It would look like i was complaining about how my computer mysteriously my computer crashed while I run under Windows

Last weekend I might have found the reason for the crash I experienced... I was running 5 days without any trouble, when xFire updated itself. Nothing special there, since it updates often, but this was the first update after my reinstall of windows. And right after the update, my network connection started to fail every 3 minutes fir a couple of seconds... After killing xFire (and disabling it from launching again when Windows starts), my system was running fine again...
Now I'm wondering is this is a coincidence or not... xFire has been the property of MTV Networks for years and all went well. Since a month or so, MTV sold off xFire to a investment company and I'm starting to have these problems... Also, this investment company has not mentioned it's name yet; only MTV Networks has told the name of the new owner of xFire once, right before xFire was handed over. And when you look at the xFire website, there's still
no information whatsoever about who's responsible now for xFire! So I'm wondering... This mysterious investment company, is it a legit company or one using some sort of malicious code concealed in xFire to get your data? With a company not introducing their self on their products website, I get a little paranoia....
Just do your maths... An investment company buying a free game related service with an on-line shop that's not even making profit..? There must be something else behind this purchase, something that'll make them money from this purchase in the long run.
Okay... I might seem very suspicious towards xFire. The crash could also be just a case of "
Shit happens" where xFire and an other program bite each other. I have my doubts about that, since I didn't really change a major thing to my...
