Farewell 2011...
2011-12-26 5:34 PM PST
I could never have predicted the events of 2011. Another eventful year is almost at an end. I know that change is the only constant in life but I am always amazed at how much change occurs in 12 months, both offline and online.

Though my first love will always be SWBF2 I added a new game this year and I now enjoy HAWX. It is actually easier on my visual senses which is a relief. It isn't easy pacing myself when I enjoy my games so much but it is no fun being ill because of a game either so I am learning some balance. Also during the year I met some great new people, renewed old friendships, continued with my art, wrote some poems, sung on youtube and published a book. I can't believe most of that lol. Of course it is allways nice to chat to my friends when circumstances permit and I did that a lot =)

Not every change that occurred in 2011 was an easy one and there were some sad times, some people disappeared, there were too many funerals attended and too many problems to deal with. Prayer and my friends helped me through the rough times. Friends also shared smiles and games during the good times. I can only pray that I gave others some hope and smiles in return.

I changed clans this year which was totally unforeseen. The members of *AUS* have been great. I enjoy being a useful participant in such a long standing and well respected group. During the past 10 months with *AUS* I have learnt an enormous amount about being an admin. I appreciate the efforts put forth by others to run the many local tourneys and events. The Australian/NZ SWBF2 community is a vibrant and enthusiastic group and everyone does their part to keep alive a favourite game of mine for which I am grateful.

My deepest thanks to all of my Australian and International friends for their support as I await the next changes...

Dogfights
2011-08-25 8:22 PM PDT
It is common knowledge that my favourite part of SWBF2 is a space dogfight. I thought it was just a love of star wars, combined with having friends who enjoyed that style of play and a touch of 'the lag is mostly easier to deal with on a space map'. I was wrong.

**♥ I simply LOVE to fly ♥**

I have often looked at other space games and tried a couple only to find that they didn't give me what I was after and not really knowing why. Then I bought a game of HAWX for less than half the price of my SWBF2 game and found that I was getting similar thrills and enjoyment.

With HAWX there is so much more to getting your kills than with SWBF2. A greater number of planes and weapons to select from and avoid (or more often fail to avoid), a different style of flight, a change in evasive manoeuvres and new scenery. Yeah I find the ground target work difficult and prefer level ground as I have a tendency to get dizzy when at low altitudes surrounded by obstacles...a problem unique to me I am sure.

My first love will always be one on one air/space combat...dogfights...although I enjoy HAWX both in single-player and multi-player. If you have HAWX and want to dust it off by playing with me give me a G'day via xfire and we can work a time out I am sure.

It may be the company of the ace pilots I know that influence me but I think I would fly regardless of who else does. Having said that I sure hope that 14 doesn't retire from HAWX any time soon...I'd still love to hear heaps more "ow" (preferably not my own), plus I love the laughs and I have plenty of lessons to learn. =)

30 mins...impossible!!!
2011-06-11 10:38 PM PDT
So I am supposed to be restricted to 30 minute spells of gaming at a time...doctor's orders. At least until they finish their tests. What I want to know is how? I often ignore the warning signs because I am having fun and then I pay for it!! Headaches, dizziness and nausea. UGH!!! The main problem is I love my space maps on SWBF2 and with an Australian server it is way easy to get carried away and forget the time. A decent no flag dogfight session can last for ages, well past my limit. I totally hate the restrictions but I really enjoy the time I do get and know I shouldn't jeopardize it. Hopefully in a couple of months it should be resolved one way or another. Thanks to my awesome friends who check up on me while we play and who shoot people down for me when I can't join in =) Their asking how I am reminds me to listen to how I feel and not stubbornly play through my threshhold. This is one fantastic community and I know some absolutely awesome people. Thanks to you all =D

SWBF2
2010-10-13 11:41 PM PDT
I have enjoyed playing SWBF2 since March 2009. I only play for fun & laughs, not for the win, which is good as I am not a very good player. I spend most of my time following other players while I re-spawn. Watching other players is really awesome though. The talent I have seen is beyond anything I am capable of but I have surprised myself in what I have achieved to date.

My favourite SWBF2 time is on a space map, absolutely NOTHING beats flying, but that is just my opinion. I love a tie ship although the Y-Wing is awesome. Yeah most seem to like the a-wing and it is fine but an interceptor is my preference. I don't mind a tri-fighter, really loved testing the Falcon in the Dark Times mod and the v-wing is a good ship if you want to drive your opponents nuts as they chase you for ages. I hate auto-turrets but have yet to find a pilot who doesn't get annoyed at those things. I enjoy peaceful bombing at times and love a full on dogfight. Like I said IMHO absolutely NOTHING beats flying!!

I never play heroes as I get motion sickness real bad with so much twirling and spinning. Yeah I get motion sickness in space and ground too, but not as bad. I love my rocket, and I have been called a mine noob heaps but I am trying other classes, takes me an age to learn though. I really like being a wookie and I hope to sort my jet trooper out one day, he tends to have a mind of his own. Engi is very hit and miss for me, mostly miss as my tosses rarely work on American servers. I can use Engi better in the Australian servers. I like to dabble with everything though and anywhere that will allow me to stay even with a 300+ ping. I guess I am a Jack (or rather Jill) of all trades and a master of none LOL!

Many of my laughs come from the strange things lag does in game, I can rarely ever tell what is happening. Half the time I don't know what I am doing anyway so it matters not. Like the profile says I play in a very clueless style. Randomness works sometimes.

The most laughs though, come from the friends I...
