A. INTRO

I. What is this?

This guide is designed to give you a better understanding of what a noob is, how to recognize them, some details about them, and how to avoid or get rid of them. It mostly applies to online forums, which are the main targets of migrating noobs.

II. Defining 'Noob'

Contrary to the belief of many, a noob/n00b and a newbie/newb are not the same thing. Newbs are those who are new to some task* and are very beginner at it, possibly a little overconfident about it, but they are willing to learn and fix their errors to move out of that stage. Noobs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own. It is the latter we will study in this guide so that the reader is prepared to encounter them in the wild if needed.

Noobs are often referred to as n00bs as a sign of disrespect toward them, and it's often hella funny, but I will refer to them as noobs during this reading.

* Usually the topic at hand on an internet forum.

B. COMMON NOOB CHARACTERISTICS

I. Noobish

Often, but not always, noobs will attempt to communicate in their own primitive language, known as noobish. It is a variant of the hacker language that exposes them as having little intelligence or will to learn. Here is an example of some noobish. Do not attempt to comprehend it: it cannot be discerned without professionals at hand.

Whether or Not

Whether you play ally or horde, whether you've got a green or purple sword. Whether you're level 70 or 1. Nobody gives a shit. Screw WoW.

It makes me sick when people talk about wow. I´d rather pwn some noobs in Cod4 or C&C than sitting in my basement pretending to be an elf. How can this game be on 1# on xfire game hours?! Maybe because this game takes absolutely no skill liek sims 2? Its all about discovering new content, seriously if i want story i gonna ready a book -.-

If you want to join my ANTI WOW club, just sent me a PN and i will list your nickname in this blog

Insurgency
2007-09-16 7:47 AM PDT
n 2002, Andrew "Argyll" Spearin, the original founder and director of Insurgency, begun his basic training for the Canadian Army. Being an avid Gamer, Spearin was inspired to think about why first-person-shooter war games seemed to get things all wrong.

As a result, he seeked out to develop a multiplayer game that featured squad-based realism and a feeling of scale representing that of a real war environment. Unfortunately, some time into the mod's development, Spearin was not able to continue his position as leader due to time constraints. Before Andrew stepped down, he passed the torch over to Jeremy Blum, the original founder and director of Red Orchestra.

Despite Andrew not being around anymore, we've tried to shape the mod around his original vision. The mod has undergone a lot of change and downtime over it's development, but we've worked hard to mould Insurgency into what it has become today.

The pieces are finally coming together and we are all quite proud of our accomplishments. With a release just ahead of us, this is a key moment in the history of the mod, which we feel is just one of many to come in the near future...
