I Blame Guildies...
2010-07-26 7:14 AM PDT
... for me coming back to WoW. Again. I tried to resist. I really did. I let EQ2 and Norrath keep me busy for awhile, but in the end, I blame my guildies for sucking me back in!

And that's ok I guess. It did inspire my latest geeky soap design, the Soapstone! And speaking of geeky soap, that's what I have been keeping busy with when I'm not in WoW. Gen Con is coming up in just over a week, and I've been preparing geeky soap stock since June to be ready with around 1k soap for the Gen Con booth. (Booth 2732, by the way, so come see me and buy some of my AWESOME nerd soap!)

Via my Twitter @Amoothyst I have found and friended @wowcynwise, a PvP Warlock who knows her stuff! You all know that my Druid is my main, but since getting ready for Gen Con means I don't have as much time to get into raids, I decided to shift my focus for a bit to *MY* Warlock to perhaps get into a little PvP. We'll see how that goes! She's slowly making the switch over to PvP gear from T9 raiding gear. Just 3 days ago she was still in fresh 80 greens and now she's in low-end epics looking to work her way up!

If you want to say hi, hop onto Emerald Dream and send Amoothyst or Tuque a whisper Otherwise, catch me at geeksoap.net where I'm making my geeky soap in prep for Gen Con! And if you're going to Gen Con, you better stop by Booth 2732 to say hello and give me a big ol' hug

Back to EQ2
2010-06-02 8:25 AM PDT
So... I'm back to EQ2. After more than five years, I just can't play WoW anymore. At least not until Cataclysm comes out and there's something new to check out. I revisited a lot of MMOs this past week, including DDO, LotRO, and STO. It seems that EQ2 has stuck. For now.

A little history. I pre-ordered EQ2 back when it came out, and was in-game with a wizard named Luna on Permafrost on day 1 back in November 2004. I only played for a few weeks before RL stuff got in the way (and then I went to WoW with friends) and so I never really gave EQ2 a fair shot. It has changed immensely in over 5 years, and I had four characters in the low 20s. I tried to pick up where I left off with them, but I just don't know what I was doing or how to play them. So I re-rolled to start from scratch like a newbie, and get guidance on how to play. Due to my past Wow Resto Druid experience, I rolled Warden. So far so good. It's been 2 days and I'm level 21 and getting back into the groove of EQ2's game mechanics and how things work. My "main" right now is Liuna the wood elf Warden on Permafrost.

We'll see how long it lasts - I'd really love to find a good guild home and keep it up. I'm working from home this summer so I've got lots of random time during the day and then evening hours. Maybe I'll find a place to call home soon

Blah

I've started using me some XFire again lately and I kinda wish I'd been using it all along -- if nothing else, just in the background -- so I had an accurate picture of how many hours I've put into various games. In looking at my profile you'd never know I had 4+ years in WoW, 3-4 years of SWG, a year of EQ2, etc. etc. etc. ... it doesn't reflect my true gaming times at all because I wasn't using it for so long oh well!
