Major Black Ops issues
2010-11-10 11:08 AM PST
Ok, I'm real disappointed with how bad this game is on launch. It consistanly freezes and I can't even play a zombies game because of "game session no longer available" errors. If it freezes on campaign, I lose all progress unless I save and quit at every checkpoint.

How the hell did they release this game in this condition?

New zombies
2010-11-10 8:15 AM PST
I just got BO and played zombies before the campaign. I'm a little disappointed, but happy at the same time seeing as how similar it is to world at war. I wish it was more different, but being that it is not makes it easier when it comes time to make a custom map. I am uploading 2 videos of my first 2 attempts at zombies. Only made it to round 9 so far.

Zombie Mapping
2010-10-12 10:00 AM PDT
So I tried to get into my map again and I found out I only kept an early version of it after I formatted my hard drive to clean up Windows. So after losing hours of work and being only left with the beginning part, I think I'll have to wait for Black Ops's zombie mode before I try mapping again. May mess around with Silo and mod some stuff though and fix the few minor bugs it had.

New games
2010-07-30 11:20 PM PDT
So it's official, I won't be releasing my new map after all. With so many other games to play, I don't think I'll ever find an interest in continuing my map. If Black Ops has some sort of "zombie" feature then I may do it again, but not sure yet if I'll even play it much.

With Starcraft II keeping me busy now, it's less than 2 months before the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV is out and after that it's all over for me hehe. FFXI Online kept me busy for 4 years and I imagine this new one will too after seeing several videos from beta.

Anyone wanting to team up for online or skirmishes against the AI on SC2, send me a message. I need some friends on there.

Update
2010-06-05 12:54 PM PDT
Well 3 months later on my next blog...My PS3 has been taking more of my gaming time than I ever thought possible. I've been renting games from Gamefly and playing nonstop.

My map is at a standstill. I think about working on it all the time, but never get into it. I'm glad to hear that Treyarch is doing the next COD. I hope they will include a zombie mode again then I will definitely be mapping once again.

Final Fantasy XIII
2010-03-08 8:01 AM PST
So after a week or so of mapping, I will once again put it on hold for the long anticipated FFXIII for PS3. I bought a PS3 mainly just for that reason as I did a PS2 for FFX.

Today will be the last day I work on detailing the map until I finish the game. I even took 2 paid days off work along with my normal 2 days off so I have lots of time to spend playing.

I pre-ordered it from Gamestop and I plan to stand in line to pick up my copy. They will be opening at midnight just to sell the game. I'll probably go get it and just get my sleep so I can start fresh in the morning. If I was a teenager, I'd probably rip it open when I got home and play it until dawn.

Resumed Mapping
2010-02-22 11:46 AM PST
Yeah really. After 3 months, I have resumed my work on Biotech Labs. I have redone parts of it due to things not working out before like the zombies jumping over the fence. There isn't really an animation for a jump-over. They would climb up and then just fall off and sometimes fall back on the same side so I reduced the fence size and they will now hop over such as in Chemical Plant at the start.

Working on one of the side rooms now with a catwalk. I want to make something resembling vats of lava, but there is no texture like that so I'll have to settle for acid or something again. New video coming soon.

2 games in one night
2010-02-13 3:53 PM PST
I finished Bioshock 2 and Mass Effect 2 both in the same night being near the end of both of them. ME2 I finished for the 2nd time on the insanity setting and I got all the achievements although nothing special happened. Can't try Bioshock MP unless I buy the game.

So now that I'm slightly bored (unless I find another game to play) I may get back into mapping. My Biotech Labs map is still there so if there's time I'll work on that and try to finish it since there don't seem to be many new maps popping up on customcod anymore.

Mass Effect 2
2010-01-28 10:17 PM PST
Well I've beaten ME2 in about 42 hours the first time around and I've got to say I was impressed. It compliments ME1 in such a good way with the storyline and being able to import your save game which affects the outcome of things in ME2. The game seems very stable and didn't crash once. The only bug seems to be if you walk too close to the edge of the floor you can tend to go past it and "float" above it and end up getting stuck on an invisible clip. Usually have to reload for this but thankfully the auto save saves often.

ME3 is already in the works and will be the final game supposedly. I think once it is released, this will make for lots of combinations of events by importing saves from ME1 and ME2. Carrying over your decisions can make for so many different events and give you scenes you've never seen before the next time around.

If you don't mind lots of dialogue and like games like Final Fantasy and a "choose your adventure" type of game, I'd highly recommend anyone to get this game. Dragon Age is also similar as it uses the same game engine designed by the same company. Both are excellent RPGs you can't go wrong with!

Now to start my second playthrough of ME2 after altering some factors at the end of my ME1 save...

The future of mapping
2010-01-12 9:11 PM PST
I'm still here after a month of playing other games, especially Dragon Age. I'm slowly getting an interest in finishing my Biotech Labs map, but I need to continue getting an idea about how to lay it out. I've been looking through the forums and the download section of customcod and haven't even tried any of the new maps yet although there doesn't seem to be many new maps being made lately.

I may or may not get heavily back into mapping again, but for now I'd say it's a safe bet to say it won't be happening for now. There are 2 upcoming games I want to play, Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2. Once I get through with those I will go back to mapping again. ME2 is still about 2 weeks away yet so I'll need something to do in the meantime. Mapping has sparked my interest for now so I will slowly work on it again.

Feel free to leave any suggestions for the new map here as I don't have many ideas besides what I made for the starting area so far.
