Mine! Aggro is Mine!
2009-12-01 1:12 PM PST
Aggro is mine, I hold the line,
I find it very, very easy to get hit
I get the mob's attention, every bit.
I charge into that deep dark scary pit.
Aggro is mine, I hold the line.

I am not a tank,
I neither serve nor protect you,
That's cause I'm a Rogue,
And when things get shitty I just vanish =)

Soviet Russia - Clan Gamers Kill you for...
2008-01-17 9:05 AM PST
An apparent clan rivalry in Lineage II sparked a street fight which left a Russian man dead.

Russia Today reports that “Albert,” 33, was beaten to death in the city of Ufa. From the story:

It all started when two clans - the Coo-clocks, made up of mostly students, and the so-called Platanium with more experienced gamers of over thirty - started fighting to wipe out each other on screen…

Albert used to spend hours in font of his computer. On the web he had his own clan and a dozen of warriors. Just days before the New Year in a virtual battle his clan killed a member of the hostile Coo-clocks.

Days later the enemies agreed to meet literally face to face in the real world.

Although the choppy translation doesn’t mention which game Albert and the Coo-clocks played, a screenshot from Lineage II accompanies the article, so we’re assuming a connection. Albert’s grieving sister told Russia Today:

I think [the rival clan] have confused the game and reality. And after we buried him on December 31, they continued to threaten us.

Phobia
2007-08-16 8:18 AM PDT
A phobia comes in the form of a small cat. These cats, referred to as "Phobia Cats" infiltrate their hosts through the ears, suck on their brains and excrete a brainwave like pattern into the minds of their prey. The unknowing human then becomes afraid of whatever that particular phobia represents.

A phobia is also a type of flying squirrel that flies inside of you, making you scared of anything. The thing you are scared of is usually depended on type of squirrel. Phobia's are nothing to be afraid of unless you have Phobiaphobia, that is usually caused by the Star Wars type flying squirrel.

M-Rated Games Good for Children ?
2007-08-15 5:10 AM PDT
Could it be that violent video games
actually have a positive effect on adolescents?

Possibly, according to a new study.

This new Report highlights research done by Cheryl Olson, an Sc.D. at Massachusetts General Hospital. Olson, who surveyed more than 1,200 7th and 8th graders, said:

"We found that most boys 12- to 14-years-old are playing mature-rated video games, so this idea that M-rated games cause shootings or major violence just doesn’t hold water.
We don’t know whether playing to get anger out is a good thing or a bad thing for any individual child, but we suspect that it might be healthy for a lot of kids."

Olson also credited playing video games as a social activity.

"They’re more likely to play with a group of friends in the same room or over the Internet, so this stereotype of a solitary violent gamer up in his room wasn’t borne out, at least in our study.
[Video games are] not going to ruin them. They’re not going to go out and pick up a gun. Violent video game play is typical and normal for kids nowadays. That doesn’t mean that parents have to like it, but they shouldn’t panic about it."

Olson’s study was published in the Journal of Adolescent Health.
