WoW Shamans SUCK as healers!
2008-12-20 1:27 AM PST
I revised this but...

Yes, I still mean it. Shamans in World of Warcraft are buffers. That is, they provide offensive and defensive buffs to a party. It is true healing is part of this, and Shamans also have a couple other non-party heals, but look at what the Shaman is BEST at.

His totems provide a myriad of buffs to regenerate mana, heal, up armor, up magic, and a lot more.

Healing wave takes about 5 full seconds to cast, and you have to be standing still, and it can only heal one target. This is best used in PvE after a fight is over to quickly replenish or to heal during a small fight when in a pinch. Any REAL battles, and the reliability of the Shamans Healing Wave, Lesser Healing Wave, or even Chain heal diminishes drastically. And forget about using these in PvP. The Shaman is much better off helping in melee, offensive magic, and buffing the party.

If you feel differently, let me know? and why you feel that way?

Shamans SUCK as healers.
2008-12-19 9:01 PM PST
Yes, I said it. I mean it too.

They have decent heal which comes in handy as a party buff.

First and foremost, Shamans are buffers. Their strongest suit is providing offensive and defensive buffs for the party.

At most, Shamans can be looked at as secondary healers.

Do you feel differently? I'd love to hear your opinion and why you feel strongly, one way or the other.

What is the #1 reason you like WoW bette...
2008-10-31 10:49 AM PDT
What's the #1 thing that keeps you playing WoW? What is that feature, mechanic, spell, skill, friend, or whatever that seems to always be a focal point that keeps you pinned to WoW?

I'd love to hear some comments because I am a WoW virgin. My friends finally got me to take the plunge, and today is the first day I will be playing WoW.

BTW, you can talk to me live, as I will be broadcasting my experiences on x-fire live.

I've been around the block with free-to-play MMO's and there's lots of reasons I like some of them. In fact, I still play some regularly. I like Atlantica Online with it's unique and fresh turn-based strategy, insane amounts of crafting, and it's addictive free league battles against other players; I also really like Shaiya a lot with it's massive PvP wars, great graphics, and fun classes.

So let me have it. 1 reason you can't stop playing World of Warcraft?

Why be in a guild?
2008-10-24 5:22 PM PDT
I hardly ever join guilds but I tell ya-being in a good guild ramps up the fun factor 100 times.

I'm in a great guild in Shaiya and I've had so many super fun adventures in the past couple days. It's been a blast.

For all those that were like me, and just never got interested in joining a guild. You should try it-and don't let one or 2 bad guilds turn you off entirely.

My shpeal about New Gen Gamers
2008-10-24 1:40 PM PDT
The sites been up for a bout a year, and has slowly grown the entire time.

It's been a huge uphill battle but it's all been paying off.

Theirs a huge site relaunch coming soon, and the look and feel of the entire site is getting a huge facelift. It's going to look very different, and I think it's going to be a very good thing. New Gen Gamers

One WoW Clone to Rule Them All
2008-10-21 4:04 PM PDT
So today I started playing the new Open Beta of 4story. It's a new Korean free-to-play MMORPG that actually sells itself on the fact that it looks remarkably similar to World of Warcraft.

But as far as I can tell so far, the similarities stop at the graphics. I think it just appears similar. I will report more after I've had a substantial amount of time in-game.

F2P MMO's Dirty Little Secret
2008-10-18 10:28 PM PDT
I'm going to actually write and article on New Gen Gamers but wanted to post a quick blurb for all you X-fire junkies.

I recently had delved into the free-to-play MMO's and dug and dug and dug, and after that I dug a little more and thought I thoroughly researched it all until the other day I happened to come across Requiem:Bloody Mary. This game took almost an accident to find yet it just may be the most polished F2P MMO out there right now. Graphics are remarkable, mechanics are well built with tons of classes, equipment, and weapons, and it is quest driven done right.

I don't know why they had to build it around a horror theme. I think it actually hurts the game. Because the game is solid, and the horror aspect doesn't really add to it(it doesn't take away from it either but I digress). The game is solid. It's a tight game with great graphics, little in the way of bugs, and the driving quest storyline is downright addictive.

This is all coming from a person who actually doesn't like horror.

Sho Online
2008-10-12 7:21 PM PDT
I was in Sho's WAR feature. It's massive PvP in an instanced map. Well a few maps. The lag was killing me tho. But it was kind of cool. It's just people everywhere. It had that feeling of urgency you get when playing Halo.
