Between working full time and gaming casually, I rarely forget to post here time to time.

WoW is still going, still just a time waster for me. I'm grinding away to 80, I just wanna get at least 1 toon to 80, just to say I did. It's pvp is crap compared to other games sadly.

I "tried" Darkfall, won't run on my laptop (all specs good cept for crappy video card). Gonna have to wait till I build a new machine for that one.

Fallen Earth is fairly awesome, indepth crafting, not totally open pvp but it's as close to Neocron/Shadowrun in a modern mmo as we'll get any time soon. Sadly, while this one at least runs on my machine, its not fast enough, since the gameplay is all FPS based. I'll definitely revisit it when I get a better rig in the future.

Kinda fooling around with EVE, just to check it out. It's gameplay is even slower than WoW but hey, scifi mmo's are so scarce..

Still waitin on Old Republic and Star Trek Online.

Nice to see djWheat and crew get Epileptic Gaming back up and running, been meaning to get caught up on episodes, I stopped listening to the show when they went to video casts, I preferred an audio format, but I'll give it a look when I get time.

I know, some people are like "wtf..WoW?". Well wtf else am I gonna play mmo wise? F2P mmos offer some fun but to be competitive in those you need all the real-cash items. Darkfall just now hit American shores finally and I'm waiting to see if it's any good after patches. Mortal Online (another free range pvp mmo) isn't even in open beta yet. Star Trek Online, Star Gate Worlds and Star Wars The Old Republic are a waaaaaays off..

So WoW is a time killer for me. The pvp is ass compared to UO, Shadowbane, Neocron, etc but hey at least the servers always have people and its a nice world to explore, even if I can't kill the annoying fucking fellow faction player who is bugging the shit out of me. *shrug*

Ordered a new laptop, that should be here in a few weeks, that'll come in handy.

I managed to get a job doing tech support for a VoIP company. Pays good, hours are good, full time, etc. By the time I get home in the evenings, eat, shower and collapse infront of my PC I'm tired.

Though it does give me some disposable income to both move out of my family's house and get a nice monster PC to tear through any MMO I play.

Oh and r.i.p David Carradine, hopefully he's wandering the Earth having adventures, like Kang in Kung Fu.

Ok so I get to a decent level in Archlord, damn near 60. I can farm fairly easily, so making money isn't hard as much as it engorgingly time consuming. Well, I keep making STUPID FUCKING PURCHASES with my hard farmed gold..

First, I buy a cash only item for gold (one of the things I love about AL, cash shop items can be bought from other players), a little trinket that increases item drop rate and gold drop for 14 days time. Sounds great, double everything. Except it cost me freakin 70 mil.. Cleaned me out basically.

Since then, yea I've basically made my 70 back, but I've since made stupider decisions.. First I keep helping a noob to the game in my three man guild that I somehow got leadership over, gear up his toon. Even gear in the lowbie 20's and 30's, can cost 10-20 mil.. Thats starting to suck up all my gold. It's nice to help'em out but damn.. And I upgraded my Wings, another cash item. Granted I upgraded them two levels from 1 to 3, they were totally not the appearance style I wanted (they really need to clearly label these or at least post photos on their website..). So That cost me roughly 20 mil after I sold the Wings I was using for 60 (a 15m markup from the 45 I paid for them originally).

I really need to spend wisely.. Sucking up money on stupid items is cutting into saving up money for items I really could use to level with. And I really want to level, I wanna hit 61 soon, new mount, new kick ass set of armor, then in just two levels a new kick ass weapon and shield.

Ok so I gave Archlord a bit more of a try. There aren't a lot of class options or race combos but the pvp ain't half bad. It's not full pvp looting ala Darkfall and it's not even as big a pvp looting as Shadowbane but the fact you can randomly drop something you are wearing or anything in your inventory, kind of meets them both in the middle. Granted pvp doesn't start till lvl 30... At that point you are fair game FOR ANYONE. At least on my server you are o_O.

I like the pvp from what I've seen. Sure, people with item shop items are going to do a little better, there aren't a ton of people who are fully twinked in cash gear, most just have an item or two here or there from what I've seen. I like the guild system, simple and to the point. I think there should be player controlled towns..but thats just me.

The fail is the slow leveling. Its taken weeks for me to even break the 40's, and real endgame stuff doesn't start till what, 80+? O_O. Grinding can be alright when done well but damn..

I'll stick with it, see how it goes. If the pvp holds out at higher levels, it could be awesome. Or it could be more FAIL. We shall see..

Been bouncing around F2P MMO's for a while. Wanted to get back into Diablo 2 but with the 1440x900 resolution.. 800x600 D2 looks like ass.. Yea there's some third party mods that update it but I want to play legit.

Anyways, Quake Live is now in open beta. Free Q3. What's not to love? I'm currently digging some old school fast paced CTF, just wish they had Threewave maps, there's what, like 4 maps in most servers rotation? Booooo.

...is what I'm up to. Kinda got bored with Shadowbane. There just, isn't nearly as many people playing as there were when mid 07. Kinda been into Defense Grid (thanks EvAv for the give away prize) and some CS 1.6 to kill time. Looking for a job IRL, just kinda bored with stuff online other than talking to friends, reading a few forums, etc

So yea, aside from the holiday season, really bored with Shadowbane. I just don't feel like making my vast pool of toons like I used to have. The only ones I ever really had fun with are my priest, my scout and maybe some big meaty toon.

I just don't feel like the hassle of making new toons, leveling them, etc. Even though it takes no time compared to other games still, for that time wasted I'd rather just sit around, listen to music, read some forums, etc

I basically just log into Shadowbane now as needed for big scale pvp. Anything small I pass on, it's just not worth the hassle of logging in. If I wanted to fight four random guys, I'd go play Guild Wars with the random arena. Something bigger, I'll log in and it'll be fun, but I dunno, Christmas and a few guys leaving guild is sucking for us. It's just..boring.

Ok, that strange hybrid caster/melee toon that kinda works in pve, won't work worth shit in pvp. That off the wall melee that uses something unexpected like a all str bow using half giant ain't just gonna cut it.

So why is people have the fascination with making alt toons for these gimmicks? They serve no real purpose, and yea they may be fun to goof around on but when you join a regular group to pvp, it gimps the group as we are wasting a group spot for a toon that won't do anything in pvp and soak up all the heals that others could actually use.

Am I the only one who doesn't mind just playing 2-3 toons, all of them completely viable pvp options, two of which are staples of pvp? it just costs more gold, gear and time to get another alt to 75, not to mention assuming it even works in pvp so why bother with a gimmick build? sure it's your time but when you bring that toon into guild-time it hampers others, and that ain't kosher in my opinion.

Experimentation is one thing, dragging down a group of people in pvp is another.

So tonight was Monday. Heroes was supposed to be on at 9 p.m. EST, but guess what? Nooooooooooooope. Everything on NBC's Monday night lineup did not air, locally in my area (state maybe) because of a Bucaneers vs Panthers NFL game. So no Chuck. No Heroes. No My Own Worst Enemy. No reruns of any of these either, at least none today that I can see. And I doubt any this week either.

Yes, yes yes. Hulu is a potential answer. Guess what, I shouldn't have to resort to Hulu to watch something, because it happens to be football season.

Shit like this is why Firefly got axed years ago. Major League Baseball, and Fox, fucked over the series with preemptions and every other episode being out of order.
