The End
2008-04-17 10:59 PM PDT
Everything is relatively the same. Except this will be my last blog. I don't know why I did this. I didn't need comments or expect people to read these, I guess I just wanted to write down some of my viewpoints on certain games. Well, it is over now, happy gaming.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
2007-11-21 7:13 PM PST
I've gotten a hold of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and I'll tell you it's pretty fun. Graphics-wise GTA:SA is not as good as The Getaway series. But the good thing is it loads faster. It's not graphics demanding so I can turn up the settings to the maximum and my resolution to 1024x768x32. Gameplay compared to The Getaway series is great. It holds it's own uniqueness that I like. Of course, the auto-targeting system is not as refined as The Getaway. In The Getaway series, all you have to do is hold the Lock-on button, then fire. In GTA:SA you have to manually aim every time. The lock-on just adds a colored arrow over the target that will change colors depending on health. It's a pain, but not that much. In manual aim, you can still play it like a 3rd person FPS, unlike in The Getaway series, manual aim is never used in a gunfight. Another thing to note is the GTA series takes place pre-90's so there are no BMW's, TVR's, Mercedes-Benz, or any other high performance now-a-day vehicles. The cool thing about GTA compared to The Getaway is the interior places. You can get food to increase health, buy weapons, get tattoos, buy clothes, etc. There are a lot of interior places that makes GTA rich and unique. Unlike The Getaway, where interior places are loaded with the exterior so no door needs to be opened, etc. I was surprised at the old cars laying around and the bad looks, but I adapted to it. Also the car physics is not all that great like The Getaway. You always tend to oversteer for some reason and it gets annoying. Maybe because I'm using the WASD to drive, but whatever. Also it's cool you can work out to increase muscle, stamina, and decrease fat. I've reached maximum in the first 2, and lowest in the last category so my hits pack quite a punch. Although there was one thing that shocked me, and that was the violence. Sure, I understand putting bullets in some dudes, running them over, punching them down, etc. but it really shocked me that you can stomp on their dead bodies. In my opinion, I think that's...

S.W.A.T. 4
2007-11-09 10:59 PM PST
Well, just for a little update, I recently acquired a copy of S.W.A.T. 4. Check on my Rainbow Six: Vegas reviews and it's about the same. They are both very realistic games. Rainbow Six is fictional based but looks very nice. S.W.A.T. being an older game is obviously less graphics demanding, but is more realistically based. All in all, it's as good as Rainbow Six: Vegas. I love it. It may be a bit too late to get your copy now, as there are other new games to play, but I play it for the single player. Not the multi-player.

Tech news update
2007-10-29 8:12 PM PDT
So the Intel's next generation quad-core for servers and desktops alike comes out very soon and it's going to be fierce competition for AMD. Rumors are it has huge overlocking abilities and that might top the CPU race although we shall wait to see what AMD has to offer. Next, is the 8800 GT. That thing is so sweet cause it's 1 slot, really thin, and the heatsink/fan cover is gorgeous. It's elongated, so it makes up for it. But the cool thing is it does about the same as a 8800 GTX, better than the 8800 GTS, but costs less and is thinner. It's really cool. Check it out. Later all.

America's Army
2007-10-27 10:31 PM PDT
I found a new game to relax with is America's Army. It's an old but realistic FPS that I like. I play with some other clan mates, and it's pretty fun. It's free, so you should try it out. Although Rainbow Six: Vegas and Hitman: Blood Money have been finished, I'll re-visit it from time to time. Mainly, it's America's Army and Call of Duty 2. I don't know what happened to Battlefield 2142. LOL. Later all.

Update
2007-10-13 7:05 PM PDT
I have been playing Hitman: Blood Money and I like it as it is a vast improvement from the older games. It's fun but not really a must-have game. I've spent a lot of time on that and I beat it, then I went back and redid them for the individual weapons to fill up my weapons rack. I also beat Rainbow Six: Vegas so I won't be playing much of that unless it's Terrorist Hunt, which I rarely play. I might get Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare when it comes out. That's all.

MUST-READ TECH NEWS
2007-09-26 9:14 PM PDT
Fusion io recently displayed their newest design in the San Diego Demofall 07 conference. The PCI-E architecture card is able to store 80GB+ of data that is able to do more calculations per second than the best server you can find in the world. Maybe the government is an exception. Starts at 80GB>320GB>640GB then around 2008, prepare to see 1.2TB PCI-E drives. Goes straight to the motherboard with no cables and passes through non of the controllers necessary for the SATA HDD drives. $30 for 1GB. If you had money to blow, this can have great potential for high-end games.

Next up revised...
2007-09-14 9:34 PM PDT
I've changed my mind. No more Hitman or Splinter Cell overviews. I will give you a bit of tech news everyday, but no games until later. Until next time...(BTW, I can't believe people actually read this.)

Next up...
2007-09-09 6:29 PM PDT
Next up, I will give an overview on the Hitman series, another old timer that is still good. I know you're thinking that I spend too much time on older games and I should focus on the newer ones. After Hitman, I will do the Splinter Cell series. I'll look into new good games after those reviews.

Oh, and on another note, they make too many WWII games. The COD series was very good, but Medal of Honor kept making more and more so it got old. COD2 was out for a while. Good game, many servers, if you haven't gotten it yet, go get it at a bargain deal. Don't get the regular deals. I will NOT do Medal of Honor Airborne because the WWII thing is too overrated. I might do COD4 after Hitman and Splinter Cell, but who knows? Until next time...
