We've decided to set up more conferences than planned this weekend from ESWC. We will actually get ALL the World Champions from ESWC on Xfire right after the big win. This will start today with a conference at around 16:00 CEST with the Trackmania Nations World Champ. After that, we will have the Counter-Strike ladies World Champs here at around 20:00 CEST. If you want to attend the conference live on Xfire and ask your questions directly to the champions, add account "chatteox" to your Xfire friends.

Another thing worth mentionning is that I got featured on National French TV on Thursday evening, w00t! It's all in French and you can check view the video here. For those of you non French speakers, I'm talking about pro gaming teams and the way they're organized.

Last but not least, I told you about the Counter-Strike tournament last week on a previous entry and made some predictions. So let's see how it all turned out!

In the end, I was right on 10 out of 14 predictions. Yep, that's right, more than 71% of my predictions were good... I won't make it look like I'm humble when I obviously can't do anything but accept that I indeed am the King at predicting Counter-Strike 1.6.

So, today is saturday, and it's a really cool day at ESWC. The first grand finals will be played today, and then the remaining tomorrow. We managed to get Lucifer from Team MYM to play against some Xfire users today, his schedule is really tight, so we weren't able to get the exact time yesterday. He will play though, and later today we will know at what time.

Keep your eyes on the blog to be able to play against Lucifer. And add the Xfire account Matteox, so that you are ready for the carnage!

We'll soon start chasing after more cool stuff to show at the blog, so stay tuned for more ESWC-goodness.

So, we had some problems with the blog up until now, and today has been a little bit of a mess. We were supposed to have a play with event together with PGS, but due to some misunderstandings they didn't show up.

So, we are very sorry about that, but we have the press conference tonight. The teams attending will be the winner of NOA vs wNv. In a little while we will start taking questions for them, and later on this evening we will have a transcript out for everyone to read.

The press conference will naturally also be live on Xfire (well, as fast as I can type, anyways.). So, if you want to participate in this chat, add Chatteox on Xfire.

Another update:

The staged match between NOA and wNv has been postponed by 30 minutes, so it will take place at 19.30 CEST instead. This means that the press conference will probably start around 20.30.

One more update:

We have some small issues with lag on Xfire, so in case it gets worse we might not be able to do the transcript session live. In that case, it will be available afterwards. Keep your eyes open if that were to happen!

Due to technical difficulties the game has run late, and we have very limited time to run our press conferences (the press room closes at 21 CEST), and as such a decision has been made to skip this press conference. ALTERNATE aTTaX, a small treat for all you german readers out there!

So, we brainstormed a bit to try and find something cool to show you, and the idea we got was that we will be out with some Xfire stuff, try to stick it on some gamers (or other people for that matter) and snap a picture of it.

This way, you will get to see your favourite brand (Xfire, ofcourse) on some people you hopefully like. We have a few so far and will be chasing after some more later today.

Hello there!

This is Torsten. My trip to Paris was quite short and pleasant. All in all, it took me just two hours to get here and everything went smoothly.

The first day I just strode through the hall and gathered impressions about the event itself and the different booths and gaming places you could visit.

You can play modern on modern consoles like the XboX360, PS3 and PSP but I want to show you guys out there a little gaming history. You can do a lot of different stuff here and among the modern consoles and computer games, I found some real old school stuff which many of the younger Xfire users probably never have seen before.

Here is just a quick ride through the years of old school gaming history.

Here you can see an Apple IIe running an early version of Pacman:



From that, we move forward to the MSX VG8020, an early video game console:



After that, I discovered an Atari 520STe. I myself used to have one small Atari and I still got it at home, an Atari 800XE:



And last but not least, the Amiga 600. I still have my Amiga 500 at home... good old times:




These are gaming machine that had a lot of fans and started gaming as you know it now. Most of the old gaming machines came out long before the internet existed, of course. ,)

The first day of Xfire at ESWC is coming to an end. We spent a great time here running events for you guys and getting to meet the best gamers in the world.

First MIBR came to visit us and play online and that was pretty nice. You can see pictures of this in a post below. Then, we set up a press conference here at ESWC with questions from the attending media and from Xfire users sitting at home and getting their questions through Xfire.
