Whats really killing gaming
2009-05-08 3:20 AM PDT
Ok so it been some time since I posted and I have a new thing to talk about .... yes it has got to do with gaming ... DUH!!! But this has got to do with the fact of have I have started to notice that many of the games these day are going to the consoles..... and the reason you may ask ...... according to the game companies and I can sum this up in just one word ... "Piracy"

OK yes this is a factor of why the PC games are decreasing but why way I see it is companies going to the consoles and making games there now ... don't get me wrong i don't really have anything against the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, (its cool if you have a console and your reading this .... the PC is better and you know we can upgrade and you can't end of argument.) but to be realistic console games are easier to copy and once copied the owner can use all the functions i.e. online multilayer ... etc.

So companies are now making game for the console and to be fair ..... PS3 games SUCK MORE THEN EVER!!!!! only a few exceptions remain Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots ... and thats about it there are a few that are still in development so I can't comment there be still the console has been out for sometime and there is only one game thats descent to play .... I mean COME ON .... the only console I will consider buying is the Xbox 360 its been out for some time ... so the bugs have been worked out (or at lest i hope so) and there are some good games for the Xbox 360 like Halo 3, Gears of War 2, fable 2 and not to mention the some companies that made games for the PS3 only have now started making games for the Xbox .... why you might ask because the PS3 is UNRELIABLE (and now useless) what a few examples ... hmm lets try games like Final Fantasy 13, Resident Evil 5 these games normally only available for the PC3 ..... but what a surprise the Sony has dropped the ball and now they exclusive game are becoming multiplatform games.

This all said, gaming on the PC has declined because of the lack of good games that are...

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly ... Part ...
2008-10-15 10:30 AM PDT
And you thought I was done ..... man I still have a lot to day don't you worry. LucasArts got a mouth full from me last time and now the next poor company that is under the spotlight is ... Blizzard Entertainment. And they may only have four count it FOUR franchisers been Starcraft, Diablo, Warcraft and World of Warcraft.

Ok I'll start with Starcraft (mainly because that is the first blizzard game I ever played). First off THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS GAME! and now you will ask me 'why is there nothing wrong with this game' because any and all issues with the game were settled when the expansion came out. NEXT

2 words ... Warcraft III ... when this game come out it looked brilliant; so I when out and got the game, and it was brilliant, BUT there is one thing about the game I don't like the fact they put a production cap ... I mean come on you playing and the next thing you know you're getting less income for have a big army, WTF ... talking about slowing down the game. but I did enjoy that idea that there where heroes and that you could (if your economy could handle it) have more then one. It be a good thing that who ever it was DOTA because it is the only thing keeping that game going right now. But over all I enjoyed the game.

hmm Diablo now here is a game responsible for hours of lost youth (beside the UT series of course).Diablo 1 was game was good but in the beginning was a bit buggy and the expansion was made by a different company and this made it fell a bit different. Diablo 2 was a GREAT improvement and the expansion add to an already great game.

Finial a game that is addictive World of Warcraft (WoW) the game is big as in 12gb big and was built on the same engine as Warcraft III but that doesn't mean that it looks like a shit .... take a look!

the game is an MMO (massively multiplayer online) so it worth for what you pay for .... yes you have to play a monthly fee (unless you want to play on a private sever but you can still end up paying a fee). It can keep you playing for...

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

Ok so this is a blog right i.e. wright what ever the hell you what right .... that said I foresee me complaining a lot and being critical ... but hey that's just me (and I know I said that I don't complain a lot but when a game threatens to destroy a franchise I get a little aggressive)

Ok I'm a Stars Wars fan and with that said I can say that I tryed or have played most of the games LucasArts have make (concerning Star Wars) but there is one no two games that I think were poorly made ... Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Let me start by saying the storyline is AWESOME .... but the the games play like a giant lot of junk ... I mean come on the battle take forever to complete and on on top of that they don't really explain how to play to game in the first place nor do they put any information and your hud that is usefull ....if you want to find out something then you have to press the esc key and then can you only get the information you want (this becomes irritating after a few times) can some one say irritating.

Now I get to the part of the read that I'm most disappointed in .... and being one of my favourite Star Wars games Star Wars Battlefront II. When I first got the game I thought it was going to be an improvement on the first one, what with been able to play with you jedi now .... and it was BUT it seemed that the bots just got stupid and man war the STUPID I mean you could stand right next to them (funny when you are a jedi) and it take then like 10 seconds to realise that you are the ENEMY. Improvement idea = taking the AI from the first game and placing it into the second game ... then the game will be perfect.

Hmm now I also remember them try to put the strategy element into the franchise ... they called it Star Wars battlegrounds and it was like taking Age of Empires 2 and replacing all the unites in the game with Star Wars characters .... and it worked just like that Age of Empires 2, meaning no strategy need just build...

The Changing of Times
2008-09-21 3:20 AM PDT
Now I'm not one to complain ... or is just me beening old school when it comes to clans, but I feel that most people have the wrong idea about them.

When I started play online (hmmm the days of when starcraft was the most popular game to play ... and when FPS where still a rare thing to see this been back in 1995) the idea of teams or 'clans' was that YOU had to earn your way into them and they where not as willing to accept anyone. Its change a lot and in some way I can understand why it has changed and it goes in this order:

1. Go on to your favourite forum site of the game you play.
2. Start a thread telling anyone that you are looking for a clan and wait for a reply.

Now I have no problem with this its a good way to find a clan (because there are so many of them nowadays ... and it beats playing your favourite game and not having a chance to even be offered a join a clan) but the problem cames in when the clan masters don't even try-out these guys .... and then they complain when there clan does not do well in a competition, or they complain about hacks that there competitors are using when they are not ... oblivious to the fact that there clan mates have not ether been practising or that they don't have a sportsmanship attitude (this is normally the case). And don't get me wrought there are some good clan out there and not all are like this but there are those out there that are and they ruin the game for everyone.

Some times I'm am left wishing that the old days and unspoken rules of clan would return.

The Games From Yesterday
2008-09-12 10:43 PM PDT
Ok this it my first posting on my blog ... so please forgive me on any mistakes I make on the this

In the last few days I am finding myself playing games the no one these day are play i.e. Star Wars Battlefront II and Warcraft III - The Frozen Throne (Normally I play DOTA) but the strategy part of the game and have find what made me buy the them in the first place ... Star Wars Battlefront II showed me that every unite I took control of I had to make then count but just because the jedi have been place in the game you should not get too cocky ... it only meant that you could die even quicker and that could also mean you losing the game

What Warcraft III - The Frozen Throne show me (and in a harsh manner) that even a small army, when played correctly, can take a entire enemy out as quick as they came up .... starts where few and far between in Warcraft III and so it also showed a person that you need to adapted to the changing situation if they wished to survive ... but then again this is only a thought from one person and to really get a good idea of the game its self one needs to talk to others .... and not play game all the time

Going back to the old games is one of the things that has kept me in the whole competitive games scene, I say this because it gets boring when you are playing the same game all the time and these is no change to the game (remember balance patches don't count)and you have to wait for a expansion pack, if one does come out, for any thing to hopeful do something (again add to the story is not adding to the game I'm talking about adding new unites) and it is also a refreshing to play a game you know you have enjoyed and will enjoy playing over again and will enjoy play until you find something to new to do

One of those games that you can play for hours on end and that will never get boring for me is the Unreal Tournament series ... these games are the reason for most of my wasted youth :p. These games have also helped to start the clan that myself and two other...
