WOW ARENA CHAT ON XFIRE WITH MYM

It’s easily figured out how occasional Sunday football players’ activity differs from the sport professional athletes actually practice. The gap between the casual MMORPG gamer and our guests on today’s EsportsZone is about the same depth. Back from their trip to Blizzcon where they battled with the best PvP teams in the world, Prophet, Akina and Mackelina from team Meet your Makers - MyM - answer our user’s questions and give us their exercised insight on the state of competitive PvP in the most popular PC video game around.
Auni™: What criteria do you have on attacking enemies? Do you attack cloth, mail or plate first or do you attack by choosing one class as the most dangerous one?
MYM|Prophet: It is very situational on what we take as a target, I’d say it’s more usual for us to take cloth, but we might want to lockdown a deadly class as well for awhile with dmg
Rocker 22: Do you play any other games or are you dedicated to WoW?
mackzter: At the moment I'm only playing WoW seriously, it takes up a lot of time since I'm playing both PvE and Pvp :) Other games are just for fun.
The Beast: What is more important full epic gear or much skill?
MYM|Akina: Skill is always more important of course, but gear does play a huge role in this game. But it's not that hard to obtain decent PvP gear nowadays.
pure: How do you improve your PvP/Arena Skills?
mackzter: You play a lot together with your team and also individually to have experience in alot of situations, and as I mentioned earlier, do your homework, watch videos/interviews/other teams.
AntiHero: What is better to team with a shadow priest, my team for 70 has a restosham, 2 warriors one arms and the other i don't know, and i think a mage and then has me, an undead shadow priest. Also, what's your take on shadow priests?
MYM|Prophet: I don’t think shadow priests have a role in a serious 5v5 teams anymore, they do work in 4dps teams still, but its a broken class atm. Fear is the only defence it has and its resisted all the time.
Riobux: How does it feel to be part of something that requires you to speak a foreign language instead of your "native tongue"?
MYM|Prophet: English is my native tongue :] so its np
Erode: How did you enjoy your stay in California when you went to Blizzcon
mackzter: It was awesome, Blizzard really put in a lot of effort and money into the players, Nice hotels/Nice flights and everything like that. Great food :) They also paid and arranged everything.
The Beast: do you need to be an addict to be the best in arena? :P
mackzter: Yes!
Auni™: What would be your first target and the 2nd target of the following and would you stop attacking the paladin when he is in bubble to take down another one? : Mage, Rogue, Shaman, Hunter, Warlock, Paladin, Warrior
MYM|Prophet: 4 dps setup: Rogue/hunter
Normal 3dps setup: Rogue/hunter :p
Warlock have to choose on PvP: Fear + dots + dispel (Affliction) or burst dmg (Demonology). Which do you prefer (on 3v3)?
MYM|Akina: Well, destruction is the real burst tree but :) I prefer a affliction/demonology spec for 3v3, that has both Siphon Life and Soul Link.
The Beast: what do you think about a human pala & shadow priest 2v2 team?
MYM|Prophet: Wont work, Priest is easy to lockdown and will go oom fast
keksQ - sonY: How do you think about a Shaman with an enhancer spec? In 2n2 3n3 and 5on5
MYM|Prophet: I think an enhancement shaman could work with 5v5 or 3v3 with a paladin. If they don’t get support its a very useless class. There is no way for him to get to hit his target if he gets focused on CC
The Beast: in 2v2 what is better to have 2 dps or 1 dps and healer?
MYM|Prophet: Both work with skilled players, for example rogue mage is really good 2v2 setup, but most of the time in 2v2 it’s better to have a team that can outlast and do good dmg, so this requires a healer
Gerd: On Dreamhack 2007 you play a Druid, Warlock, Rogue team. Why these classes?
MYM|Akina: It's a very good setup with a lot of potential, also we had not much time to prepare for the event (about 3-4 days) and the people I played most with in 3v3 were my friends Iku (rogue) and Sebbo (druid). So we decided to send us three to the event.
The Beast: what do you prefer 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5?
MYM|Prophet: 5v5, available for more setups and requires really good team play from everyone
mackzter: 5v5 definatly.
mackzter: 2v2 and 3v3 is too much setup dependant
mackzter: class setup
AntiHero: What is your take on hunters getting arcane shot, if you're a spell caster and you have buffs, they disappear, do you feel this is overpowered?
MYM|Akina: Not at all, it's about time hunters got some utility.
MYM|Prophet: Most good teams will dispell your buffs anyways so I wouldnt consider this as overpowered. Though the fact that once the target is clean on buffs and then the hunter can keep the target clean of buffs (for example freedom or blessing of protection) is really imba :]
Auni™: Do you think a 3on3 Team contained of Hunter, Paladin and Warlock has good chances? I always have the problems to heal the Warlock, do you have any tips for me Mackelina?
mackzter: You definitely have chances in increasing the stats with that setup, Maybe your warlock needs a bit more help from your hunters traps to kite around the opponents a bit more, with Blessing of Freedom etc, vs Melee teams that is.
wow ruiniert leben!: How do you think, a 2on2 team containing wl/restrodruid can be beaten?
MYM|Akina: it can be beaten? :P
MYM|Prophet: Was playing Resto druid and hunter and we met that setup, didnt have problems with them
Kiba : D: What were the advantages when you joined MYM?
mackzter: We get the chance to go to any tournament we want to and we get to play under the MYM tag which is great :) Also a lot of other cool stuff!
Is there a class you would consider dominant or "broken" in Arena ?
MYM|Akina: Some classes only shine in certain brackets, like rogues and druids. They are great in lower brackets (2v2 3v3) but not that good in 5v5 (unless you play a 4dps team).
The Beast: for a shadow priest is it very important to focus on stamina or should I focus only on dps? What is the minimum hp i should have?
MYM|Prophet: I think every class requires a good balance of all stats. That includes shadow priests. So you need to have good stamina stats as well as dmg stats
Erode: Do you Drive a Volvo
mackzter: No, MYM bought us a Ferrari each.

MYM|Prophet: My Ferrari is dark red btw

Mr.Vanbustruck: how do you feel when you play wow, when you win in an arena? When you just royally kick someone’s ass :P?
mackzter: VS teams where its even games its awesome :) You really feel great when you win an important game.
pure: What gems do you put into your sockets? Mass HP and resilience? Or push offensive stats like spell dmg or ap/crit?
MYM|Prophet: Depending on class, if you’re a class that gets focused a lot, you need to focus more on stam/resil. But as a Warrior I go for DPS gems
XTC: Do you watch trailers from Arena matches from other famous teams like MOB or Pandemic ?
MYM|Prophet: I watched all the pvp movies that were out at the time from our opponent teams. Also I watch good pvp movies now and then
pure: Did you ever think about quitting WoW?
mackzter: Loads of times :) It does take up a lot of time, but no I haven’t thought about it at all lately, not since we became MYM :P
Auni™: Would you consider to get invited from me to Hamburg when I pay the flight and 5000€ for each of you and you train me and my team for arena?
MYM|Prophet: I'd be there :p

mackzter: Yes we do, all the time, talk about setups and counter setups and talk about tactics.
Kiba : D: Which was your favourite patch, because of class changes & which pvp change you'd like to have?
MYM|Prophet: The patch that introduced Wow Arena. But I'd still want more pvp content, more arenas, more Bg's

mackzter: Akina uses Omen, I use Pitbull and that’s all pretty much. Unit frames. When practicing for Arena Tournaments we don't use any add-ons since it’s not allowed.
