Ban total = Age
2009-02-14 5:59 AM PST
Nothing special, really. I go on a server "owned" by a "clan" called PeerPressure. I shoot them for a bit and they ban me.

Then again, they run a cracked server, so they've pretty much got no room to talk.

Nevertheless, I got my 22nd permaban and, for the first time, someone from my own team was crying hax at me too.

Final verdict: My wallpaper just got slightly more full.

Additional: In five days the Ban Total = Age equation will no longer apply anyway. Ah, well, I'll most likely fix it soon enough.

CryHax Reborn: We cry, we whine, we ban....
2009-01-19 2:20 PM PST
I just got permabanned out of a server again, this time the one owned by HeadShots Reborn. A TDM on Killhouse; a bunch of M203 addicts and tent enthusiasts vs. me with my trusty Deep Impact AK.

And, like every other clan that's banned me so far, all they've got for their "proof" is a bunch of JPEGs and a couple of whining friends on Vent.

What. A. Fucking. Joke.

On the bright side, this makes permaban #20. If only I could remember all of them. And yes, this rant is pretty half-assed.

"You Are Banned For 35 Million Minutes"
2008-11-27 12:52 PM PST
This was the message that greeted me on my latest server ban. It didn't say "permanently banned", but it may as well have been.

You see, 35 million minutes is a long time. Using the calculator, I managed to work out just how long.

35000000 / 60 / 24 / 365 = 66.5905

For those of you at the back, that's about 66 AND A HALF YEARS!

Anyway. Gotta love it when people suck so much, I'm able to exceed their score sevenfold.

I should really note down "May of 2075" in my diary. o.O

Origin's Server Rule Translation Handboo...
2008-10-23 6:03 AM PDT
Have you ever been on a CoD4 server and seen those auto-spam server rules in those pretty colours scrolling under the team scoreboards? Ever wanted to know what they really mean? Well, allow me to translate for you.

"No Spawnraping/Spawncamping" - We can't move quickly enough when we spawn to avoid dying from a legitimate supression tactic.

"No bunnyhopping" - We don't like it when people get the jump (no pun intended) on us and kill us really easily. To help us against this - and to make us look good - we've given "surprise attacks" a catchy name, decreed it to be wrong and prohitibited it.

"Hackers/Cheaters will be banned!" - We've (most likely) never seen a hacker or a cheater playing on our server before, but if we see people who are playing much better than us or any of our regulars, then we'll waste no time in accusing them of cheating/hacking and kick them so we can actually win on our own server because we're too much of a pussy to handle defeat on our "home turf".

If I see any more, I'll do my best to translate them for the viewing masses.

CoD4 Admins: Maturity Required?
2008-10-05 4:52 AM PDT
Firstly, this post isn't directed towards ALL CoD4 admins.

There are actually some good server admins out there who know how to find hackers/cheaters and the correct way to go about getting rid of them.

Unfortunately, however, there are those clans/admins that seem to have skipped these lessons and cry "hax" and ban anyone with a better-than-average score, knowledge of the map and an ability to predict where a player will be hiding - or where they're going to go next.

- Maybe they don't like to be embarrassed before their peers on their "home turf".
- Maybe they're under the delusion that they're the best CoD4 player on the face of the planet.
- Maybe they enforce a "no bunnyhopping" rule just because they can't aim, then kick anyone who even brushes up against the space bar.

Maybe they're just idiots. Who knows? The fact of the matter is, there *are* server admins out there who shouldn't have been given the job in the first place.

I can only speak for my experience, but I have been banned from at least a dozen (that's 12) different CoD4 servers, all because the admins around at the time thought I was running some sort of wallhack or an aimbot.

I've never used any sort of hack or bots, mainly because of the simple reason that (caution: incoming ego-stroke) I DON'T NEED TO.

"Aimbot"s, "wallhack"s, "auto-knife"s, "infinite UAV"s, "infinite chopper"s; I've heard a whole bunch of accusations and excuses.

My first perma-ban (these aren't temporary bans here, people) was courtesy of the UNEF, back before I joined a clan. To cut a long story short, they seemed to believe that rushing around, spawn-raping the other team while getting a new chopper before the old one's flown off was "suspicious gameplay".

After that, I began to get kicks/bans more often, though the most memorable one has to be thanks to the people in charge of the Killing Fields (194.50.80.10:32000) and [BHD] Area 52...
