I must admit, I couldn't bring myself to play it for longer than about 3-4 hours. Maybe it was a mistake to complete Dragon Age: Origins for the second time before starting on DA2.

Playing it just felt horrible. In theory, the dx11 graphics are supposed to look better, but they looked worse to me, the characters look less alive but more stiff and static, and the fighting almost felt like playing an arcade shooter. There is even more stuff that buggered me... Anyway, I'll give the game a second chance at some point in the future and will edit this entry afterwards.


[Edit] Forget it. I can't do it. Even though it's 6 months later now, I can't imagine how the game could be any better now. I'd rather play Origins for the third time -- and it's probably still gonna be far more enjoyable than playing this one for the first time.

Short game. Sometimes fun, sometimes not.
The handling of the cars is terrible. You get used to it but unfortunately they decided to keep the driving more realistic. Driving a car from the 1930s that acts like a car from the 1930s will get on your nerves very quickly.

The story is ok, the cut scenes are good, so are the graphics and sounds, the shooting is okay – especially destroying your environment and shooutouts with the (otherwise annoying) police, whereas the hand to hand fights are boring.

From my perspective it’s a game only meant to be played once. A very linear, interactive movie. There are not exactly many fun things to do outside of the story line.

Time to throw out the old Creative X-fi Music sound card and replace it with a Asus Xonar D1.

Optically, it looks like a change for the worse, but here’s to hoping it won't give me the same driver issues as I had with the X-fi. (Image hidden under the cut.)
